Choose a short story, and imagine you’re turning it into a movie. Who would you cast to play the main characters? What songs or musicians would you include in the soundtrack? Would you alter the story’s setting? If so, how? Explain your responses.
I would turn “Roman Fever” into a movie. I would imagine it as a star-studded Oscar-bait-y drama. The movie would follow three main threads. The first would be a young Grace Ansley and young Alida Slade. It would start with their meeting in Rome and their friendship. Then their friendship would fall apart as they both try to get the attention of a young Delphin Slade. The second thread would follow them as they get older and their rivalry. The final thread would be daughters Barbara and Jenny and what they do when their mothers are catching up. Their friendship would be reminiscing of Grace and Alida’s friendship. All of these plotlines would be interspersed among each other. The setting would be Rome and New York (just like in the short story). The ending would also be same with the audience realizing Barbara and Jenny are half-sisters.
Here’s the cast I’ve come up with. I don’t know I lot of actors/actresses so some of these were found by googling. This cast would be very star-studded and meant to draw a large audience
